What ages play in 5G?
5G Basketball is for children ages 12 and under — boys and girls, all on real teams with real jerseys.
My child has never played basketball. Is that OK?
That's exactly who 5G is built for. No experience is necessary — the season starts with a Shooting & Skills Clinic, and our coaches teach from the ground up. FUN is number one, and our goal is to get a little better every day.
Do we have to be members of the church?
No. Church membership is not required to play, and families of every background are welcome. 5G is hosted at First Baptist Church Tampa, and every game day includes a short devotional the whole gym shares together.
What's included with registration?
A real 5G jersey — the kind kids keep, not a T-shirt with an iron-on number — plus coached practices, game days, the weekly devotional, and the season finale with the Knockout, Championship, medals, and awards.
What does a typical week look like?
It changes with the season and the program — some seasons pair a game day with one weekday practice, and some run practices and games together on a single gym day. The Five G's are what never change; the schedule details get customized each season, and families always get the rhythm in advance.
How do we find out dates and register?
Join the list. Every program page on this site always shows its live status — when dates lock, the list hears first, and when registration opens, the button on this site goes live the same day.
What does “Bible-based” mean at 5G?
Every game day, everything stops once: players, parents, siblings, coaches, referees, and volunteers stand together on the court for a short devotional built on the Five G's — Glory, Gospel, Grace, Gratitude, and Grit.
